Fantastic first victory in Formula E

What a fantastic day at Punta Del Este! I qualified 4th as we tried a somehow different set-up. We were easily quickest during the private testings at Donington, but the street circuits require some specific settings.

For the race, I had found the right set-up. The car was really fantastic. A big thank you to the whole eDams Renault ! During the first part of the race, I saved my battery as much as possible while staying close to the two leaders. On the battery usage side, I was clearly ahead. I almost could do an extra lap. Unfortunately, all this was useless because of the Safety Cars which cancelled that advantage.

I took the lead after the car changes and from then on the race was under control. At the end, when the Safety Car went in, I had some issues with my brakes which were a bit too cold, and it has not been easy to resist to Jean-Eric Vergne. But in the end, I scored the victory and this is fantastic.

In the championship standings, I am now second, but one must not forget that one must substract a race - a sort of Joker that I already used in Beijing!

The day after this victory, we stayed at Punta Del Este to work on the settings. I hope we will progress and that I will be able to win more races. And why not the next one, in Buenos Aires, Argentina? Shall we meet there?
