A great “home victory”

On the Fuji track, we were almost “at home”, as the circuit belongs to Toyota and we were not far from the factory which produces our engines. There were also some 50 000 spectators among which most were Toyota fans!

With Anthony Davidson, we had the perfect week-end. We started by scooping the pole-position, even though it has not been so easy. We had trouble to warm up our tyres, and I had to wait until our very last lap to pick up a further tenth, the one that gave us pole with an average advantage of 3 1/100th of a second !

During the race, we quite dominated all our opponents, except our team-mates on the Toyota number 7. All the other competitors were two laps down, that was quite an achievement. We were lucky not to have any rain during the race.

After this third victory this season, we are now 29 points ahead in the championship. There are three races remaining, and I will give it all to win the world championship. That would be fantastic.
