SEBASTIEN BUEMI on his TOYOTA # 8 and his team-mate Anthony Davidson just won the World Endurance Championship (WEC) after the « Bahrain Six Hours» race.

Sébastien and Anthony unfortunately did finish that race 8th (category LMP1), due to a mecanical issue. But their point gap is sufficient for them to be crowned « 2014 World Endurance Champions » tonight. For both of them, as for the whole Toyota Hybrid Racing team, the ultimate goal pursued for three years is thus achieved. And it is even achieved in grand style, one round before the last race of the championship, which will be held in two weeks on the Interlagos track, in Brazil.

Sébastien’s first impressions were : « I really am super happy to win my first world endurance title. At 26, this is a dream come true, for me as for the whole Toyota Racing team. I am not sure I fully understand what’s going on and what indeed does a world title means !... But it is with great emotions that I would like to thank all those whose efforts allowed me to reach this goal : first of all my parents, who made everything they could to help me fulfilling my passion for driving, but also, of course, the whole Toyota Racing team for having put his trust in me, and also for having provided Anthony and me a fantastic car this season, which made this title possible. Thanks to all of you ! »
