Fourth season with the Toyota Gazoo Racing team!
Since 2012, Sébastien has been on the driver line-up for the Toyota team in endurance racing. In the World Endurance Championship (WEC,) the Japanese marque enters two prototype cars, each crewed by three drivers. After three seasons in Formula 1 with Toro Rosso, Sébastien was spotted by the Toyota bosses, who were keen to take him on, even though the Swiss driver is still the reserve driver for the Red Bull team.
With Toyota, Sébastien is thus able to work with one of the world’s major motor manufacturers. The endurance racing team is based near Cologne, in Germany and Sébastien goes there very often for technical meetings with the company engineers. So far, the collaboration between Sébastien and Toyota has already reaped success, with a second and a third place in the Le Mans 24 Hours and an endurance world title in 2014. Between 2012 and 2014, Sébastien scored five victories in 17 races. In 2014, he climbed on the podium seven times out of eight races. He starts his fourth season in 2015 with the reigning champion’s Number 1 on his car.
